The B&B is a great place to stay - there are so many small things that delighted me. For instance, they had a problem with birds flying into the windows and the solution was effective and clever (and beautiful). They hung paper stars, handmade like everything else here, that enhance the views but give the birds indication that there is a barrier that should be avoided. It works! There are handmade quilts on all the beds, and the original art in every room is by Alaskan artists, and you wouldn't believe the breakfasts... fabulous bread and baked stuff and the jams and jellies are from wild berries right around the place -- blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and heavenly nagoon berries, oh, and rhubarb in muffins and cakes and the granola is the best ever. They have their own recipes and they are even willing to give them toyou.. I didn't stay long enough and I want to come back and bring my whole family with me next time. They were really helpful with information and advice, and saved me lots of time trying to find out what there was to do and how much it cost. Great people, nice community, and fabulous trips in the bay and to the whales. |
